Yaphet Jackman

Yaphet Jackman is a Brooklyn-born, Guyanese-grown cinematographer with a career rooted in the international and Caribbean film industry. He’s devoted to preserving and advancing culture through filmmaking, particularly in Guyana and the Caribbean. Yaphet has brought this vision to life through numerous projects, including a 48-hour film challenge hosted in Guyana by his production and consulting company, Bent Street Films LLC.

His work as a cinematographer has also deepened his passion for photography, especially in film format, where he’s building an archive capturing Guyana’s landmarks, heritage, and people. Beyond the Brush marks Yaphet’s first public exhibition of this photographic journey.

Yaphet earned his B.Sc. in Communications from the University of Guyana and his MFA in Film from Ohio University. His cinematography has been featured on Amazon Prime, BET+, Fuse TV, and Tubi, showcasing his impact across regional and global audiences.
